We had a similar duo - Bagheera (the gray) and BB. They were best buds for almost 11 years. We lost Bagheera in May at the age of 15, and BB is still recovering from that loss. We have two younger kitties, which help distract her, but some bonds are irreplaceable.

I think the GOP forgets that people in the US have a history of supporting the underdog. Time will tell if they’ve overplayed their hand, but I’m beginning to see a tiny of flicker of hope that they have and the majority of us have had enough.
