These are shots of four "Prairie purpuratus" penultimate males from Northwest North Dakota. This is where P. texanus merge with P. purpuratus. It seems incorrect to call it a hybrid zone. Found this Phidippus clarus adult male guarding this penultimate female in Central Florida last month. This fall-maturing species can be found in wet habitats throughout Florida.
