A country willingly chose, by all accounts a big enough margin with the popular vote, a convicted felon, a rapist, a fascist.

2016 sucked because there was a naivete about it: "How could people choose the sexist reality TV monster over a real politician!?"

2024 sucks because there's *no* naivete about it: people are embracing a fascist knowingly, and there are fewer stopgaps to slow him down. They want this.
