Today, I’m sending out author copies to all the readers who preordered my new books. Or at least as many as I can get signed and packaged while the baby is napping. I should have about 2 hours, or the baby might be up before I even finish typing this—AND she’s awake, never mind.

Ideas are not the writer’s problem. The problem is that the writer will run out of TIME before they run out of ideas.

It's simple really.
The more books you read, the greater the chance a magic portal will open in one and transport you into that realm.
Don't give up trying.

Years ago, I confidently announced that my epic fantasy novel was the first volume of a trilogy. Today, I am proud to hold the world record for longest trilogy at a length of five books. #writing

It would be cheaper to just put the money into actual author appearances and publicity; and sell a wider range of titles to create, oh, I don't know, FUTURE customers...

If you think about it, the very best books are really just extremely long spells that turn you into a different person for the rest of your life

In yesterday’s post, I said I’ve been writing about the characters in The Fallen Odyssey for almost 12 years. Not entirely accurate. If you count the earliest drafts of the story, it’s more like 20 years… Ouch.

As late as two days before I hit “publish,” I was still tweaking a couple of things about the ending of The Cycle of Aurym. It’s surreal to say goodbye to these characters I’ve been writing about for almost 12 years. What a journey!
