Once again I have made the same mistake I always do lately in rushing my sketches and thereby having to basically redo them before I can get properly stuck into lineart, so here's a thread on how not to fuck up your sketches and get them right the first time.

I create because I can’t *not* (all of my craft supplies are packed, so I bought a sewing kit and a thrifted blanket for a new project anyway.)

But also, I love sharing what I find beautiful and inspiring with others. I see so much cool art and use that to fuel my own.

It was particularly hard to do any sort of detail with the blunt tips on these old oil pastels. The colored pencils could do a bit more, but they don’t show up as well on the black paper, so they were more for blending.

Still, had fun, will play around with them more!

Remember, creating art is a skill that has to be learned. It takes time, practice, and patience, so never beat yourself up or be disheartened if what you've put on your canvas isn't exactly what you pictured in your head! (1/2)

Have to keep creating in spite of it all, no matter what. For the joy of it, the love of it, for the catharsis it brings. I can’t let anyone else take that.
