Football (LUFC) - music - film - tv
Not sure about "worse than us", but "as likely to be in the mix come the end of the season" - Burnley, Wolves, Forest? Maybe one or two others if they get key injuries etc.... You get the impression it will be a right scrap, go down to the wire etc. Every point will count. Game of nerves etc #lufc
05.10.2025 14:59 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0Our 69/70 season had a failing-on-all-fronts simultaneously quality, but I guess '72 pips it for the sheer last ditch kicked-in-the-nads element.
Meanwhile, #lufc played their part in Ipswich's '81 league disappointment with a 3-0 win in March.
The Hearts '86 double was a shocker.
HB to Mr R snr.

04.10.2025 16:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think your manifesto for the next election needs to include the immediate destruction of all autofill software.
03.10.2025 19:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now *this* is a choon. Angie Brown's vocal blowing the doors off. #totp
03.10.2025 19:50 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I tried to explain who Diana Does was too, the cultural significance of her appearing in that video. I failed.
03.10.2025 19:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I never knew that.
Trying to explain to M just now how a track like that could hold down the No 1 spot for three weeks - the power of the flash visuals, and of #TOTP in particular.
I'd have to say The Best of the Blueskys
03.10.2025 08:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 013 appearances, apparently. I also didn't know he was born in Huddersfield.
02.10.2025 21:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hmmm. Neither of those improves on the original, but I like the Take 5 one more.

I know it's only their u-21s, but on behalf of my 88 year old, Lincoln-supporting dad. #LCFC #MUFC
30.09.2025 19:59 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have GB on the original cassette, late 90s 10" vinyl box set, recent CD plus the Steve Albini re-recording. For Orbital (green) I have original double vinyl, US import CD, recent double CD reissue. PCL is up there too - original Factory vinyl, Warners CD, box set. I am stupid.
30.09.2025 19:54 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Think I may even have more versions of this album than I do of George Best.
30.09.2025 19:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0He's doing pretty good.
The stats on their recent wins are a bit whack - 30-odd% possession and fewer than 400 passes in a 3-0 win... It's not Bielsa-ball, but it's working, for now.
Given Brotherhood's anniversary, how about Every Second Counts?
Or, the Velvets' Waiting for the Man.
True. Just trying to think of options! Given that he seems comfortable with his right foot, presumably he could do a job if DJ is out for months, rather than just relying on runaround boy? Particularly in games where we need to be taking all three points. #lufc
30.09.2025 07:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Isn't Gnonto primarily right footed? Maybe Chadwick will get some minutes too. But I agree that BA offers little going forward. Infuriating lack of composure. Bogle seemed to have to do all the attacking down the right on Saturday, that's a lot to ask. In a tight league we're going to need some wins
30.09.2025 07:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Still my favourite album of the millennium to date.
28.09.2025 20:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My wife's a Newcastle fan, so yes, injury time is not popular in our house right now π¬
28.09.2025 18:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My parents barely went to the pictures between 1965 and 1975 afaik, but took us to all the Bonds.
They also bought me my first cricket bat that day in Skegness. Happy days.
Yep, if they'd disallowed the Newcastle goal that would've been a shocker.
Still not sure about the penalty, but I'm watching with my wife, who's a Newcastle fan, so I'll shut up if I know what's good for me π€ #NewArs
I'm watching the Newcastle game with my wife in our local. Some fella has been setting up an amp for most of the first half, and has just started singing the Verve's Sonet. Wish I had a mute button for him...
28.09.2025 16:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ooh yes, good shout. Saw it at Skegness in 1975. Bit racy for a seven year old, but still one of my favourite Bonds
28.09.2025 16:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The ref?
28.09.2025 16:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fwiw, I thought DCL put in a real shift yesterday. Never gonna be a deadly finisher, but he's a great outlet for this team. Gudmundson looks good enough, son, from day one and Bogle is doing the work of two men on the right. Not completely sold on Stach or Ofakur yet, but hopefully they'll improve.
28.09.2025 15:20 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Age yourself with a film you saw at the cinema as a kid
28.09.2025 15:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 3Much healthier than the panic stations after our first four games. Goals coming from midfield and open play, as well as set pieces.
As you say, all positive and will increase the players confidence in themselves and their team mates. #lufc
