I know we've had some amazing story games this year, but Arc Raiders is my personal GOTY. I'm a gameplay first guy and this game creates player-driven stories. Around half of my solo encounters have been friendly. Which is a good balance of PVP and PVE moments.

Also, it's ALWAYS "coming soon" and "closer than you might think". And then there's just no followup whatsoever. Pure soulless clickbait.

I have not seen a single demonstration of an actual AI generated game that is playable and not just an AI generated video. I can imagine the use of ai art/voices in a human-developed game (also bad). But a full game coded by AI doesnt exist and I can't imagine it being fun or optimized.

I remember when people didn't want to be or face pirates in a pirates-themed game called "Sea of Thieves".

This exact same thing is now happening to Arc Raiders.

More shots from #Arcraiders. Players have definitely settled in and upgraded their gear over the weekend as fights are becoming more deadly and their weapons's impact become heavier. And we're picking fights with the larger Arc threats too.

At the end of a run everyone just wants to get out with their loot. You could start a fight for maaaybe some better loot from their corpse, but a friendly extract is more valuable in most cases. Half of my player encounters today were friendly extracts or helping with people's quests.

This is one of those movies where solving the mystery at the start of the movie was the most interesting part for me. It's a fun little ride, but a little odd at times, like his other movie, Barbarian.

#ArcRaiders keeps stunning me with it's presentation. There's a great variety in landscapes, weather, atmosphere and the environmental storytelling is top tier. Also, F10 removes the HUD. It's not a Photo mode (yet), but you can still make pretty screenshots with it.

Any chance we'll see a remaster of this classic in the future, like with the other Apogee classics? @rigelgameworks.bsky.social did an excellent job with Duke Nukem and Biomenace.

Yes, you can play this solo and it's great. The game will always prioritize matching all solo's together for a session. So you won't see any duo's or trio's during solo. Great system.

#ArcRaiders, my contender for game of the year is finally here. Only a few hours in but it has it's metal claws in me already. It's been a really stable launch for a online game that has been skyrocketing in popularity. I'm enjoying it a lot so far and I already met a lot of diplomatic raiders.

It's crazy to see how many people are in Twitch chats complaining and hating on a video game because it's not free to play and/or it doesn't cater to a non-pvp audience. It's such a weird mindset to be in. Not ALL games need to cater to everyone. It's the developer's choice what they want it to be.
