I hate how the nature of social media demands everyone’s instant reaction to big news, huge events demanding our hot take, our opinion, our response to what has just happened. Be it humour, solemnity, pointing out hypocrisy etc
We divide ourselves on opinion, squabble, react, and round&round we go!

I live in the Los Angeles area right now, and yeah—things feel scary. But let me be clear about something: LA isn’t rioting. We’re showing up for each other. We’re protecting our neighbors from being torn out of their homes by ICE, from being dehumanized and erased by a government trying to pretend some of us don’t belong. This city, as much of this country, is full of people who’ve been made to feel like they don’t count—and we’re standing up to say that we do. Trump wants to paint LA as full of looters and criminals because facing the truth would mean admitting he’s the one fueling violence. That what’s happening here isn’t chaos—it’s community. It’s a city refusing to be broken, screaming we take care of each other. So of course he calls us insurrectionists - despite himself having literally staged an attempted insurrection a few years ago. Because if he admitted what we really are—furious and united—he’d have to admit how hollow his power and message actually is and how not only are our actions a threat to him but why we fight. We see through him. As a trans person, I know what it means to say we’re not what he, or anyone else says, we are. I’ve been living my whole life having people trying to tell me that. We are so much more. We are one another’s shelter. And we’re not going anywhere.
