This is oversimplifying but, the way our system is set up is that you sell everything you own to pay for it, then you apply for medicaid to pay for the rest.

And as we saw yesterday, the health care industry is starting to awaken and mobilize against these massive Republican cuts to Medicaid.
The hospital industry, in particular...they have a lot to lose.

NSF, NASA and NIH budgets per year, inflation adjusted from 2000-2025 along with the proposed cuts. NSF includes research component only. Massive cuts across all sectors, well below support spanning 25 years.
How bad will it be? Catastrophic.
Proposed cuts to #NSF, #NIH, and #NASA will set the US R&D landscape back 25 yrs+, cause economic and job loss now, and undermine innovations to come.
But, this is the WH's *proposed* budget.
Speak up now before it is too late.

Community health centers are reliant on Medicaid dollars and proposed cuts represent an existential threat to them — according to the National Association of CHCs, "Medicaid covers 50% of CHC patients and accounts for 42% of revenues."

The cuts to Medicaid and the ACA will now be well over $1 trillion, the bill still triggers $500 billion in Medicare cuts, and likely kicks 10-12 million off insurance.
Impressive work to make the biggest cut to #Medicaid in history of $700 billion.. and still have a budget bill that *adds* nearly $4 trillion to the national deficit.
To be clear, this looting of the Treasury basically forces additional cuts to health care well into the future.
