Of all of the changes my appearance has gone through over the years (weight gain, weight loss, new wrinkles, new tattoos, etc) the most humbling transformation, by far, has been growing out a pixie cut.

I read Beloved in 2023, and I'm so glad that I waited until I was older to read it. There is no way it would have landed on my underdeveloped frontal lobe in the way that it did if I had read it when I was 16.

In 2025, I’m shopping my bookshelf for classics that I never read when I was in school. So far, I have The Metamorphosis, Catch 22, Song of Solomon, and Lord of the Flies picked out. Does anyone else find themselves wanting to read the classics now that they’re older?

I would try it again now that I know what it's like, but it was definitely a little more anxiety-inducing than I expected lol
