Alberta is still a very fortunate place to be, if we are picking winners and losers. The struggle to keep the world hospitable is the noble pursuit.

The gravy train between Edmonton and Calgary has been running for my entire life. Every 7-8 years, it will be 'proposed' or 'studied' as a way to funnel tax dollars to the AB conservative friend and family plan.

Always a bonus to rope in the rubes with more money than they know what to do with.

And shareholder security. There can't be any risk to current or future dividends and/or share price.

The fact they were celebrating with the extra man is hilarious! (but absolutely, it would have sucked SO bad.)

Not to mention the untold number of disabilities that resulted, certainly undercounted. (My mother lost most of her hearing in one ear after contracting scarlet fever as a child in the 1930s.)
