Drives me insane that this entire effort has focused on Southwest & Washburn, the two wealthiest schools in the district. Good on them for getting attention, but look into how girls sports are faring at Edison, North, Camden, South as well. Disparities are huge compared to SW & Washburn.

I haven't checked the numbers recently but a few years ago Yinghua had fewer than 10% of students qualifying for free and reduced lunch - over 50% qualify at the nearby public schools. Straight up racial and economic segregation. St. Anthony just as bad.

St. Anthony? If you’re interested in school demographics, take a gander at Yinghua vs. the closest elementary and middle schools, you’ll unfortunately have some neighbors sending kids there as well.

She says “there is no evidence that the system failed,” but the original spreadsheet they were using did fail, they had to rebuild a new process on the fly, over 10% of ballots were spoiled…not very convincing. Add the food anger and it looks like a big mess no matter what actually happened.

Walz might also be mad about Fateh claiming the MN Dept. of Ed. was immoral for investigating Feeding our Future, especially given how much criticism Walz gets over fraud. There are legit reasons to not support Fateh, it's a shame this is turning into a binary when there are 2 additional candidates.

You sure? There's video of Fateh speaking at one of their events. He speaks about how he'd been intervening for them, says it's immoral that MDE was investigating, claims that MDE said there was zero evidence of fraud (bullshit), asks them to keep supporting Amy Bock, etc.

Yeah, that and people who don't care one way or another. If the final round of ranked choice voting comes down to Frey and Fateh, I still like Frey's chances (unfortunately). Still time to change that, but Davis/Hampton are going to need to go after both Fateh and Frey instead of just Frey.

I think Koski dropping out is the only thing keeping him afloat at all. If we had four viable challengers I think most people would rank three and leave him off; as it stands I think there are going to be a lot of third slots left blank.

One thing Menz did well was get more sports/rec opportunities for kids in NE and N Minneapolis. There was very little available for my kids in our neighborhood when they were little and there are more opportunities now every year. More important to NE residents than parking spots in Uptown.

Yeah I wish there was more coverage of the Frey camp's incompetence not only at the convention but in general. I also understand why Fateh's camp would want an endorsement that was theirs for the taking and something they feel like they earned. Shame it turned out this way but that's politics.
