Live in his district, all ready to vote for whoever's challenging him, just hope we find out who that is sometime soon.

Losing Catherine O’Hara while we’re being terrorized by a dictator who is somehow still conscious despite being 600 years old and looking like he’s halfway into a Fallout ghoul transformation really fucking hits hard

So let me get this straight...

The federal government of the United States of America arrested a journalist for....uh....reporting...

but didn't arrest two of their own who clearly gunned down innocent American citizens in broad daylight in front of the whole world?

It's a good day to call your Senators and tell them that you are watching and that you will not forget what they do, or fail to do.

You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

Winter storms are coming. Snow, ice & freezing temps create extra risks for disabled people: power outages, inaccessible travel, disrupted care.

Here is a checklist to help you plan ahead:

This is just one of many reasons I attended my first Long Island DSA meeting today. They're doing wonderful work both within the community and outside it and I look forward to getting involved. Also they have Zoom participation for their in-person meetings, which is awesome!

Bob Marley - Get Up, Stand Up (Live at Munich, 1980)
YouTube video by Bob Marley Bob Marley - Get Up, Stand Up (Live at Munich, 1980)

Yet another grim day as the regime has murdered yet another person in cold blood and broad daylight (and uncounted more in cold blood but behind locked doors).

I have no useful commentary, but I do have Bob Marley. #AICouldNever

Then there's Roller Skates by Ruth Sawyer, a book I discovered when I was 7 and have re-read numerous times since, most recently last week. A product of its time but still a delight.

In terms of what books shaped the reader I'd become, definitely The Grey King, A Wrinkle in Time, and The Giver. All books I've loved and re-read, all led me towards more varied and exciting speculative worlds.

Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamedβ€”
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.

(It never was America to me.)

Great show! Haven't seen it yet but adore the cast recording. Laugh after laugh, then "Dear Bill" hits you like a ton of emotional bricks. You're lucky to see it now, the original cast is leaving next month.

So far the only people interacting with this call to heel for white people (and a challenge to unpack their proximity to whiteness) are... non-white and/or queer.

There's stiff competition, but the 1 tech enshittification emanation I dislike the most is, I think, the near-demise of paying once for something then owning it. Give me a piece of tech with onboard software, give me a game, give me an email client. Charge me once, give a couple of years of support.
