02.11.2025 02:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mine too! Iβm FURIOUS!!!

These options are driving me nuts! Either you got this from an official source, or you don't know/prefer not to answer. As if the internet just isn't a thing.

I don't know about heated arguments, but I (showing up with the counter-protest) had productive discussions with several protestors, most of whom didn't even seem to fully support the speakers. *shrug*

15.07.2025 20:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fun fact: I was hit by a car on my bike on my way to join the counter-protest. Can confirm, they're a bunch of goofs.
(I'm fine, the driver was super apologetic, just superficial damage to her car)
Got hit by a car this morning (right hook on Richmond near Victoria) on my way to a bike-lane counter-protest. I'm fine, bike's fine, and the driver was deeply apologetic. But man, isn't ironic... don't you think? #biketo #topoli
15.07.2025 16:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Iβve had a few myself β including one in 2024 for 7 km/h over β and recently went to an office where fines can be paid to clear them. I got there shortly after 4 p.m. and asked a Toronto police officer on security duty in the lobby for directions. He said they wouldnβt process my tickets after 4 p.m. and that Iβd have to come back, but earlier in the day. We started chatting β Iβve always found most police to be friendly β and I mentioned to him that the speed cameras are deadly efficient. βTheyβre not just efficient, theyβre a fβββ scam,β he told me emphatically, a second cop working with him nodding in agreement.
Seems pretty telling of Toronto Police's lackadaisical attitude toward traffic enforcement that an officer feels comfortable publicly calling speed cameras a "fucking scam." www.thestar.com/news/gta/the...

17.05.2025 18:09 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0βThe fact that someone else finished in front of me didn't diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I don't feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points.β
Well said, Anelise.
He should shut up until he wins a majority of the popular vote. Or maybe just, like, shut up in general.
Either way, I say it's time to rile him up some more!
2-3 hours of driving per day, every single day? Oof π no thanks
26.04.2025 13:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finally an insurance company is speaking up about climate change but they should be out there spending big money to counter fossil fuel companies and get the world serious about stopping climate change - and saving their industry.

Precisely why affordable units should be part of the mix in every new residential development; and affordable low-rise apartments and tri- to six-plexes should be built in yellow-belt neighbourhoods across North America. NIMBYs be damned.
24.03.2025 00:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can we get links added to the Meetings & Events section to download a calendar event (.ics file) for each session? Might make it just a little bit easier for a more representative (i.e., younger and busier) audience to attend.
22.03.2025 12:42 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Wouldn't it be something if members of the TTC Board, City Councillors, Metrolinx executives, and senior MTO officials (including the Minister of Transportation) were required, with reasonable exceptions, to commute by public transit and/or active mobility a bare minimum of once per month.

Seriously though, the elevator thing is an excellent idea for how to turn this sh*t show into an opportunity.
The leaves donβt even change colour or fall off the trees in autumn. Because weβve replaced them all with plastic ones and stapled them to the branches. Thatβs how committed this neighbourhood is to never changing.

Toronto also happens to have a ring of natural and artificial barriers/bottlenecks (ravines, the harbour, rail corridors, etc.) roughly encircling its downtown that could make implementing the toll infrastructure relatively cheap and easy:
14.01.2025 18:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, of course it would. Shouldn't even be posed as a question. NYC only adds to a mountain of evidence that shows (de)congestion pricing is effective.

24.12.2024 17:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβd probably also throw in photo-enforced bus/tram gates at all of those upgraded stops as a replacement for the oft-ignored restrictions at the intersections, so local car traffic would have to U-turn to avoid a ticket.
23.12.2024 22:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Along King, Iβd be strongly in favour of removing a bunch of stops (namely Peter, Church, Ontario, and Sackville) and nudging some of the remaining stops to mid-block locations compensate β especially if it came with permanent stop upgrades like proper shelters and bumped-out level boarding.
