I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

My worry is that being listed is not very helpful! I'm pretty sure I would be listed as the person I care for is on the surgery LD register, but I have not been offered any services (not even a free flu jab!). Accurate counting becomes the target (probably useful for Palantir, but me so much!)

I'm an OT in a neighborhood team (in it's current iteration) and an unpaid carer, can't see why being on a register would be of benefit either as a clinician or a carer!

Two non-fiction recommendations; The Wager, an amazing story of shipwreck, mutiny and the all-round mad pointlessness of 18th century naval warfare, and Murderland, an environmental and societal consideration of America's mid century serial killer problem.
Fiction I'd also go with Ministry of Time!

I'm a frontline NHS community worker, I got my jabs because I live reasonably near to one of the big hospitals, but no effort to provide any mobile clinics anywhere near where we work must have driven down rates in our trust this year!

It definitely works differently here because of the lack of algorithm, maybe because a lot of what you put up is uncontroversial people just don't feel a need to respond!

I've worked in rural Worcestershire and Wiltshire, not sure if the picture differs in other parts of the country (maybe better opportunities for lower paid work in more urban locations)

I'm an OT in the community so I meet A LOT of carers, most UK nationals work for agencies which provide services for privately funded clients (which due to the very strict criteria for funded care from local government is very big business) around here they charge about 2x an hour what LAs will pay!

And maybe because so often social care is seen as an adjunct to the NHS, something to get frail older people out of hospital, rather than as it should be, the support which enables people - including those frail older people - to thrive in their community.
