249 years since we declared independence from a king, the work of living up to our founding promise is more important than ever - and it calls on each of us to do what we can for our country.

We took land from the Native Americans. We enslaved Blacks. We treated (and still treat) women as second class people. We interned the Japanese. Now we are detaining decent, contributing immigrants with no meaningful records of crime.

What a wonderful record we have of mistreating good people.

Unreal. The US government is dumping Asian and African families and children in random countries that they have no connection to. Dumping, not "deporting." Deportation implies the return of a person to their home country. This is treating people like toxic waste.

I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library
