An extremely important read.

Hmmm, perhaps that reading aloud to children should continue even after they have started independently reading.

Heather and Joyce are my go-to analysts. It’s important to find a way to process what’s happening and they help me do that.

Fifteenth book for the month! It’s amazing how much more reading I’m doing since I took a break from several social media platforms. #booksky

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic.

It’s a tough read. I found it hard on my heart, but she’s such an incredible writer and storyteller that the hurt was worth it. I hope you find things to ponder in those pages and the time you spend worthwhile.

I added two books to the TBR stack yesterday. Breakfast out plus a trip to the bookstore, was a fabulous way to spend a Sunday. Today, the TV is on a cooking channel, but I’ve muted it. I’m reading Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books. It seemed the perfect choice. I’m in self care mode.

I never used TikTok, so the fact it’s gone for now is not impacting me. But, I feel for those who built a presence there. In other news, today I’m venturing over to one of our independent bookstores to meet a friend and spend a gift card. What books will come home with me?

Exactly. And, I have a few volunteer roles that depend on social media, so leaving for good just isn’t in my future. But, a detox week sounds nice. 😬

Makes sense. It’s just a little experiment for me. I really can’t ditch Meta, even though I’d love too, as too many close connections are maintained there.

I wish I could permanently leave them, but I have too many friends and family who use those platforms to stay in touch.

I’ll be posting exclusively here next week. I’m going cold turkey on all my Meta accounts to see how I manage.

While I’ve been trying to ignore what’s happening in our country politically, it’s seeping in and it’s depressing and scary. I waffle between wanting to stay apprised and wanting ignorance. I’m following the journalists at The Contrarian as well as The Atlantic. I’m still boycotting broadcast news.

I’ve started reading Meg Shaffer’s The Lost Story. Starts well, but when Stevie Nicks is mentioned and noted as a character’s favorite, I’m alllll the way in. It’s the little details sprinkled in as character building that get me every time.

Very eclectic! I’ve been reading fantasy of late, but also sprinkle in mysteries. I’d like to dive into a good historical novel like The Frozen River soon.
