At least half of the people standing around watching that happen have also commented on similar posts “why are they just standing around? Why isn’t anyone doing something?!”

I’m mystified at how many alarms aren’t going off in the media or even with people at all. It’s a real fear of mine, but every time I mention it to someone they say “I know!” but I can tell they really don’t. This is anti net neutrality on steroids. :(

This really bothered me. I wrote an email to someone’s supervisor to express my appreciation for something they did. When I next saw the person, they were shocked and told me it was the first they had ever gotten. In 15 years. I later heard something similar from someone else.

Wtf.

I missed it, too. I just started watching them about a month and a half ago. I haven’t been able to find commentary from the St. Louis POV.

Director Ryan Coogler’s genre-bending Sinners (2025) is a lush film, musically, visually, thematically. For some it will be spiritually intriguing. The main musical scene (it’s not a musical) made me wish I had seen the movie on the big screen. There are extra scenes mid- and after-credits. 5/5 🎥

Twin brothers in 1932 return to Mississippi from Chicago to set up a juke joint, running afoul of both human and mythical evil. I was 15 minutes into the movie before I realized that both brothers are played by Michael B Jordan. 😂 🎥

I just looked it up and it’s on Max, which I don’t have right now. But it’s next in my rotation of streaming services. Max must not ever offer streaming deals, because I never see one. If you do, let me know!

I’ll definitely look for that. He’s terrific in whatever he’s in.

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

The film stands on its own action-wise, but the brothers’ childhood revealed in the original answers a lot of questions. The original wasn’t kindly reviewed but it has since become a hit. You should watch it before the sequel. But be warned you don’t see Bernthal much. 🎥

The Accountant 2 absolutely does justice to the original. Having given up on a sequel, I got a double dose of satisfaction with the reunion of the 2 brothers 8 years later. The script is too stuffed, but Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal more than make up for it with their delightful buddy vibe. 🎥

Okay. Glad you have the grandkids. I stay busy at work but find I’m not great company these days. 😂 I’ve been working on doing more long weekends to take short road trips. That helps a bit.

So something weird is happening with my notifications. I’m not seeing when someone rep replies to me.

Thanks for reposting, Pithy. You’re absolutely right, cash is better. Someone on IG pointed out the food banks are so familiar with the stores that they know which days the better deals are on.

Just watched THE LOST BUS w/ Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera. Heavily fictionalized to add suspense, but it kept my interest. Both leads do a fine job. It was good enough that I borrowed the book it’s based on, Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire, from the library.

Watched Ballerina of the John Wick franchise. I enjoyed it. Lots of action, dark and gritty mood, fun fight choreography, John Wick shows up a couple of times. Ana de Armas did a credible job. I would rate it 4th in the series over John Wick 3.

Not a word, but St. Louis, even though founded and settled by the French, butchers all the French streets and municipalities. St. Francois, Chouteau, Gratiot, Creve Coeur, Gravois, Bellefontaine, You can tell an out-of-towner by how they try to pronounce them correctly.

Friend and I are looking at rentals in FL for Feb and we had it narrowed down to three houses. Asked the hosts a couple of questions, and one happened to mention the Gulf of America. We now have it narrowed to two houses.

Easier to talk there than here, that is, as long as he didn’t ridicule anything prohibited in the contract he had to sign.

What about the U. S. Vets being attacked on the Global Sumud Flotilla? It would be great if she would speak up for them.
