I really don't want to live here anymore I'm beginning to realise. The arc of the global narrative is moving east and I could spend the next 20 year trying to avert crisis after crisis but at this point the train has left the station and the decline is locked in.

But actually there does come a point where having some self respect is probably the more wise course of action at this point. I've suffered too many losses and been betrayed by the reality of who people are rather than who I would like them to be. That's the ultimate tragedy, that I could not help.

Probably the question I have to answer myself is why do I care more about peoples opinions of me on the internet more than I care about how I see myself. If people treat me as a spectacle more than a human being it only served the greater narrative shaping framework necessary to get things done.

I don't really know if I need to stop posting and be happy with fading into obscurity, or to demand more of people in exchange for my time and efforts. I've given enough away to last people a lifetime already, but I also don't want to not be an open person. Can anyone appreciate this?

I think part of the problem of people choosing not to work with me or attribute my work is that I don't really know who my work is for anymore and it's completely demotivating. Here I am thinking we're working together on things but really I've been exploited. I'm no-one's serf or slave.
