Revealed: How Manchester's newest food hall could look in striking images
A planning application has been submitted to the town hall
Great to see our plans progressing for this further investment in Wythenshawe. Alongside Moston, Gorton, and Withington, @manchesterlabour.bsky.social is delivering improvements to our high streets all over the city, with lots more to come in 2026.🏡🌹🐝

Could Manchester be a model for the UK to kickstart growth?
With an annual growth rate of 3.1%, Manchester's economy has performed twice as well as that of the UK as a whole.
Manchester built and completed 791 new low carbon and affordable homes in 2025, including 467 for social rent. The most for 15+ years.
We have a further 1,500 affordable homes on site, which includes 850 new homes for social rent.
Good progress made, lots more to do.

It was brilliant to be in Gorton recently with local Labour Cllr John Hughes to see the recently completed social and affordable homes on Blackwin Street and Vallance Close.
These 7 family homes built on former brownfield and council land will be a great addition for this local community in Gorton.

I will be sitting alongside Keir Starmer at the PLP this evening as Deputy Leader with my full support.
He & I have been discussing in recent days, & before, how we need to do better to take the fight to Reform (as we are doing in Gorton & Denton) & by showing we are on the side of ordinary people.

I have today been informed that, despite personal assurances to the contrary, the Green party have once again used my image and misrepresented my words on a second leaflet circulated in Gorton and Denton ahead of the by-election. I have now lodged an official complaint with the returning officer.

I visited Baguley Hall Primary School in Wythenshawe this week to present one of their pupils, Sam Adra, with a certificate and book voucher. Sam won a competition at our recent local plan consultation event in Wythenshawe. Well done Sam, and thanks for being involved in the consultation.🐝

Cold night! 🥶 but a warm reception for Angeliki Stogia on the doorsteps in Gorton last night.
Good to talk with many residents about what the local @manchesterlabour.bsky.social councillors are doing for the community in Gorton, and how Angeliki would be a great Labour MP for their local area.🌹

Most people know, it’s only Labour that can beat Reform in Gorton and Denton.
Labour in Manchester is delivering - better buses, more social housing, more GP appointments, more police on the beat. 👇🏻

Pleased to campaign last night for Angeliki Stogia in Longsight ahead of the Gorton and Denton parliamentary by-election on Thursday, February 26th.🌹
Plenty of support for Angeliki and Labour, and rejection of Reform, and the Greens and their opposition to new social housing in Manchester.🏡
