Two gem-studded puffball mushrooms have emerged, side by side, from a woodland floor covered in brown leaf duff. They have rounded cream-colored tops covered in short spiny bumps tapering to a bulbous whitish stalk.

Only a few more months until puffballs emerge again. Here are two little puff buddies to pass the time :)

I still see too many nature photographers and scientists (re)posting hideous gen A/I images. Blatantly among their own real human-made nature photos or articles.

If you’re not aware, there’s a labeler meant for identifying A/I imagery: @aimod.social. You can report posts or accounts yourself too.

And even then, they already wasted the water and produced the emissions. We know offsetting isn’t real, you can’t put the climate impact genie back in the bottle. AI: not even once!

Nice! Yeah I read that it was a bit more limited, but very curious about the different experience and pace. Mainly just ready to get back into coziness.

Got some everything bagel seasoning and now I’m obligated to sprinkle it on everything.

They are! And apparently white clover is the best clover for honey bees, because their small florets are easily accessible to the bee's short tongues :)

It kind of looks like shelf fungi (neat shot!). I spotted a common kingfisher for the first time this week, it was far away and tiny but the blue was striking. Here’s my undeniable proof! :p

A tiny delicate white bonnet mushroom with a very tall, hollow stem and a glowing, umbrella-shaped cap grows from a moss covered tree trunk. The mushroom cap is lit from behind casting a nice shadow on the narrow stem. Out of focus behind it is another similar, but even tinier mushroom with a little snap in its stem and more bokeh moss.
