Somewhat neotrad blackwork skeleton I did a little while back. Always glad for your cool ideas.

Not quite medieval in aesthetic, but I recently had the honour of creating the interior illustrations for Sugahspank's "Αγέραστος Αό΢α", a passionate and profound poetic anthology.

As an artisan/artist, trudging through your bluesky has been quite interesting. I wanted to ask if there's some book or bibliography you could recommend on historical pigments or general methods for that period that would potentially be useful for someone not educated in conservation or chemistry?

Would an insight into that, from the perspective of an artist, and the effort of attempting to create an authentic and cohesive style based on them, be of use? Do forgive me if the question is silly or uneducated.

This sounds quite exciting really. Although I must admit there is much that ends up being confusing to me since I'm not an academic, but rather, an artist/artisan. Especially as of late, I've been trying to study and emulate the style of medieval manuscript illuminations and woodcuts.

Hey folks! Been a while since I last posted here but will endeavour to do so more.

First off from my medieval flash sheet. My client opted for a magenta colour instead of the original scheme, but still always happy to do medieval themed pieces.

For the kind of artwork I enjoy doing, I feel it would be a better choice, perhaps, than doing a more generic art degree. That said, I am very open to any suggestions that will widen my knowledge on medieval and early renaissance art and history.

As someone who has worked primarily with art in my life/career I have little to no knowledge on the subject. But as this seems like a good space for medievalists I thought I'd ask. Is there a way for someone with little relevant experience and mediocre grades to get involved in medieval studies?
