I've painted the view of their yard and river, where we've spent so much time. Food feels like an appropriate offering, especially with a house full of people, but I don't just want to pick up bagels at the store.

Has anyone gone through this recently? Was there anything memorable that helped?

In true fashion they currently have a house full of people as they prepare to say goodbye to him. The kids and I are driving in this weekend. I got an Airbnb to lessen that burden.
