Ideally, we would like to start with a space for 10 people, including some private desks and some shared rooms for meetings and Zoom calls, with the option to grow gradually to 20 people and more than 50 in the upcoming years. They are seeking space for a lease starting in Jan 2026. Properties they are considering:

3. BMR Properties (210 Broadway in Cambridge; 215 First Street in Cambridge; and 601 Congress Street/Seaport Science Center in Boston)

MLSC Tax Incentive Program The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center offers a suite of nine different tax incentives to help offset the significant capital requirements associated with developing and advancing new life science technology. The MLSC tax incentive program is an annual, competitive application. Awards are subject to the approval of the MLSC’s Board of Directors and based on net new jobs created. Sheba ARC’s proposed new operation aligns with our strategic objectives, including the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Commonwealth. Subject to board approval of reviewed and successful applications and compliance with the terms of a definitive award agreement, MLSC will commit to award Sheba ARC’s associated forprofit companies aligned with this project $20,000 in incentive tax credits per net new, permanent, full-time equivalent job created in calendar years 2026 – 2030, and retained for three years, up to 250 jobs. I was reading through a new release of emails (I will post them soon), and I found these photos of @massgovernor.bsky.social meeting with the Israeli Consul General to New England.

These are from October 23, 2024. That was over a year into the genocide in Gaza.

I used the new SFI database to identify Massachusetts officials with investments in Israel.

The search identified ten officials. Honestly, given the callous disregard for Palestinian lives shown by so many people in government, I expected there to be more.

A neat feature of the database is the full text search. I don't think anyone has put together a resource like this before in Massachusetts.

You can search the SFIs to see all the officials with a particular employer or investment.

The Revolutionary War solved the problem of American subjugation to a far-off British monarchy. The American Civil War solved the problem of slavery in the southern United States. World War II halted Adolf Hitler’s conquest of Europe and stopped the Holocaust. Operation Desert Storm liberated Kuwait from Iraqi occupation. Israel’s War of Independence ended 19 centuries of Jewish statelessness. Far from being “amplified” by war, those injustices were finally resolved because governments embarked on combat and citizens risked their lives to fight.

Was this "war of independence" perhaps itself an injustice?
