Have you read Oil!, the novel it’s based on? It is so different, but just as good. The book would have to be a miniseries, as the movie is only 1/4 of the story, changes the protagonist from son to father, and eliminated Eli’s brother, an almost Christ like foil to Eli’s preacher.

Second is more military sci-fi, and 3rd is criminal conspiracy sci-fi.
His other series "Blackman/Thirteen" and "Into Thin Air" are back to his sci-fi who-dunnit.

The problem with the DVD releases is they are all missing the Muppet Babies section as well as a couple of songs.
I guess the IP rights around this are a complete nightmare, they make getting the original music in Scrubs and Malcolm in the Middle for streaming seem like easy street.
