They are definitely going to keep that if overthrown, and then the Danes can give another to the next guy. Thoughtful, cool, and repeatable!

Also, we should really be taxing/penalizing the use of class 7/8 trucks when something smaller could have done the job.

In the first five months of 2025, coal power has fallen in China compared to 2024.

Solar power is up 120 TWh, meeting 86% of the increase in electricity demand β˜€οΈβš‘οΈ

Wind also up substantially

Our power infrastructure is not built for climate change. In heat waves, power plants are less efficient or have to shut down, transmission lines can’t carry as much electricity, and distribution transformers are less efficient. So there is less electricity available on days when we really need it.

This is the future of power everywhere and it’s really exciting.

We looked into the Mideas for a DCHA pilot. I tried to reach out to gradient, but they weren't responsive and I didn't see great customer feedback in my research.

As a native Spanish speaker, it baffles me the dissonance between written and oral languages in English.

For instance, you write "BlueSky is a dead echo chamber for libs", but it reads "I want to post slurs without being blocked".

Good wheel. I can appreciate it. Once had a car pull out in front of me from a street parking spot. I ran into his front quarter panel. The bike separated the car's bumper from the body. He had to drive around with his front bumper dragging. My bike was fine. Goooood bike.

Nice summary of known data on the Spain blackout so far. It has become pretty clear that voltage played a major role in the blackout - very, very contrary to the speculation put out by Bloomberg columnists literally during the event

Look at the length of warranty if you want to get an idea of how well they think they made it.

It's mostly exported for food purposes, but yes there are plenty of other applications to look into. Just for a little background, back in the 90s state soybean boards got the US biodiesel industry started because they were trying to figure out what to do with all the excess oil. Or Aviation fuel.

09.05.2025 19:58 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

This isn't quite right. While soy oil is preferred for biodiesel, it's only 18-25% of the product. Farmers are not growing soy just for oil production. It's more a byproduct of protein production that is then repurposed to use as fuel. If you grow just for oil you end you crash the value of the feed

It would be helpful if more people understood renewable energy is actually an extremely disruptive technology and the reason monied interests are trying to make folks hate it is that they are the ones which will be disrupted.

I love reading about these advancements, but hate when they claim that it could "increase service life xxx years". The nuclear industry has a problem with understanding that the equipment could last some long time, but never actually has lasted as long as advocates claim. Creates a credibility issue

Bringing this 2022 chestnut over here. Hey, it's still true!

Whispers: There's a commission in your state of 3 - 5 people who can shut down all the fossil plants and pipelines and replace them with clean electricity, and SCOTUS can't stop them.

[Episode #242] – IEA Outlook 2025 | The Energy Transition Show What are the implications of the IEA’s view that world demand for all fossil fuels will peak and begin a slow decline within the next five years?

Do you know that the International Energy Agency, in its latest World Energy Outlook, predicts that ***global demand for all three fossil fuels will begin declining within a year or two***?
