Too Much review – Lena Dunham’s cliche-ridden new romcom is a total disappointment The Girls creator’s hugely anticipated return to TV is just not good enough. It’s tonally jarring, full of laboured jokes and abandons all thoughts of innovation. You expect far better

It’s an utterly shite tv series anyway and Lucy Mangan agrees with me so there www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

Yup really cool Lena Dunham / @netflix.com - way to glorify the kind of driving that kills pedestrians. #TooMuch @thewaroncars.bsky.social

I’ve exercised my right to peacefully protest in the UK a lot over my lifetime: CND/Greenham in the 70s (as a child), anti-apartheid in the 80s, stop the war in 2000s, on and on. Today is the first time I’ve felt scared of being arrested, just for showing up. #FreePalestine @stwc.bsky.social

Fauja Singh: Man arrested over hit-and-run death of world's 'oldest' marathon runner British marathon runner Fauja Singh was hit by a car while crossing a road on a trip to India.

Imagine reaching the age of 114(!) and achieving such amazing things and this is how your life ends. Horrendous.

See - I can't stop thinking about it! There's something akin to when children cover their eyes and think it makes them invisible. Except that's cute.

As an incredibly lazy parent/person I love both of those but was looking for something more directly subverting car ads - maybe your 'All New 2020 Child' one?

Just make ensure they have time, space and permission to play throughout their everyday lives. Oh, and enable them to walk and cycle for everyday journeys too.

Get it. Boringly, I actually came here looking for a good screenshot of your work to use (to refer to you!) in something I'm writing - a proposal for a child-centred approach to streets and transport decision-making. Any suggestions?!

I spend far too much time wondering about this too - especially when they do it on double yellows. Think it's a weird combination of protecting own vehicle, being 'considerate' to other drivers and saying, "I'm not really parking here, don't give me a ticket".

What does extreme heat mean for children and outdoor play? | Alice Ferguson What does extreme heat mean for children and outdoor play? Cycling past a local playground in the 30+degree heat last week, I saw a lone mum pushing a child on a swing in the blazing sun - both look...

Why rising temperatures are yet another reason children need space to play out on their doorstep… @playingout.bsky.social www.linkedin.com/posts/alice-...

Bristol Kidical Mass 2025 (with EN subtitles)
YouTube video by Bristol Cycling Bristol Kidical Mass 2025 (with EN subtitles)

Last weekend in Bristol, children on bikes took over their city centre! They were seen and heard. They had a blast.

But the aim of #KidicalMass is also serious. This is not the everyday norm. Children across the UK need #SafeStreetsNow.

So much joy in today’s #kidicalmass Bristol ride, we desperately need more space for kids to cycle safely, but we can have fun while working towards change . @aliceferguson.bsky.social @bristolcycling.bsky.social

This makes me sad every time I walk past. Local school playground - an increasingly precious safe, car-free space for children - is opened up at half-term and weekends for cars, but not for children to play. What message does this send? @playingout.bsky.social

Of course he is - which anyway is undermined by so much information being released. But the car wasn’t driving itself.

Unbelievable. Even when a car has been deliberately used as a weapon in a horrific violent crime with tens of victims (including children) *and* the perpetrator is named, the BBC can’t break the habit of using the passive tense.

That looks like two junctions near me *after* being redesigned (by council) for a safer route to school!! And without the zebra of course.

Most people don’t see it though - even when it’s right in our faces every day.

“I hope the mayor remembers that kids ride bikes, too — and that we want to be safe on the streets we all share”. Honestly, a lot of 12yr olds are this clued up and articulate and we would learn a lot if we just gave them space to speak.

Birmingham, welcome to the flock!

Good luck, especially to students getting from halls and bus stop to Matthew Boulton College across the dual carriageway A47. 🤞🤞🤞
