Respect celebrates 25th anniversary with parliamentary event

We're still smiling after celebrating Respect's 25th anniversary parliamentary event on Tuesday 😊 Hosted by Katrina Murray MP on the first day of 16 Days, we came together to reflect on the journey, we've been on and the work ahead.

This includes the issue of child and adolescent to parent violence and abuse (CAPVA).The government needs to revisit & continue the work began by the previous administration, creating a clear definition to understand its prevalence & respond accordingly to the challenges faced by parents and carers.

I very nearly got the chance to speak to the PM at the end but he was whisked away. I would have told him I'm heartened by the government pledge to halve violence against women and girls, but very disappointed he failed to mention it today.

A few reflections on the PM's speech today. As always, it's deeds not words we really want!
