The first episode of Ash & Ink Lore’s “Martian Queen: Dany’s Alien Legacy” is now live. This episodic series is the video version of my Daenerys: Invader from Mars essay where I discuss the influence of The War of the Worlds on ASOIAF.

As some of you may remember, I’ve written essays about ASOIAF over the years…pretty long ones actually, that people don’t have the time to read as much as they did previously.
 
And so, I’ve decided to condense my old essays, and new ones and put them out in a video format.

Hi everyone,
Hope you’ve all been well. Haven’t posted in a while because the last year, as it was for many, was a stressful one, and so I needed to take a break. However, during that time, I’ve also been working on a little surprise.

I’ve started a YouTube Channel, AshAndInkLore.

Ghost Jon might be killed as they go about getting revenge on those who killed Jon, and both end up going into the fire together with both returning. Remember the horse to represent Drogon’s steed was killed before it was put into the fire. Mels says she also keeps seen Patches in her fire.

If Jon’s birthing from stone is to match up with Dany’s birthing of her dragons, there must be three sacrifices. I’m thinking Shireen, Patchface who was left out of the show, and possibly Ghost. Will Mels sacrifice a living Ghost? I don’t think so.

Selyse is the true fanatic in the family and I can see her agreeing to burn Shireen with no problem.

Why would Stannis burn his daughter to bring back Jon. Mels convinced him that he’s Azor Ahai, but in his heart of hearts, I don’t think he really believes it. However, to suddenly hear that he’s not, but his daughter needs to burn to bring back the real deal is not something I see him agreeing to.

Also, if Shireen’s burning coincides with Jon’s resurrection, there is no way that Stannis can make it back in time for Jon’s burning, which I think happens within three days of his death to match up with Christ’s resurrection and so Jon can return with his memories and essence intact.

Fans assume that Stannis will be the one to burn her because that’s how it was on the show and D&D said it was one of the “oh shit” things that George told them would occur. However, I don’t think that they specifically said that Stannis would burn her, on that she would be burnt.

Remember that Stannis told Jason Mallister that he might hear rumors that he’s dead, and Melisandre has been unable to see him in her fires. I think that she will convince Selyse to burn Shireen to bring Stannis back, but as he’s not dead, Jon will be the beneficiary.

I don’t think that Shireen’s sacrifice is necessary for Jon’s resurrection or that Melisandre will burn her specifically to bring back Jon. However, I do think that she will be the unintended payment for his return…possibly Patchface as well, but definitely Shireen.

So glad this holiday season is basically over. No more shopping, cooking for large groups of people or entertaining guests. I am so tired, my body doesn’t know how to define it. For the next 2 weeks of vacation, I doing nothing but catch up on some shows & read a couple of books, and sleep.

Makes me wonder what she will do with Cersei’s face if she does kill her.

I agree about Arya/Aria, which means that its origin is in Ariel, which in some cultures means angel of death or lion/lioness of god. Interesting when you think of Arya’s role as a FM, and that she wargs a cat and calls herself Cat of the Canals.

We just don’t know enough about the Daynes.

If Ashara is Jayna and she was heir after Arthur, Meera could potentially be the legitimate current heir. Not sure what that adds to the plot though. And it seems like George originally had plans for Edrick, who is the heir to be the way Dawn gets into the Starks’ hands so he’s probably legitimate.

That’s an interesting idea. Based on Dornish law, after Arthur’s death, Ashara would likely be the next in line. Not sure there is evidence to suggest that the Daynes don’t follow Dornish law but there has been no named female leader of the house in the text…at least not that we know of.

Not sure that Ned would think of him the terms he spoke to Bran of it he knew that Arthur dishonored his sister. Also, if she is Juana Reed, she would have had to become pregnant with Meera at pretty much the same time, which means that maybe, she wasn’t pregnant.

If she was dishonored, I don’t think that we can rule out the possibility that it was by her brother. He seems too good for words, & George does like to soil his knights. That could be a reason her family would send her away to protect her. However, there are two issues I have with this possibility.

It’s super rare to see a rainbow in snow or ice because of the lack of water droplets to refract when the light hits them. So the Others are frozen rainbow knights.
