Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

bc the point of the question is lets talk abt a book. it wasnt “how can this person show off how many books they love and how much of an ordeal it would be to choose a favorite its like a mother choosing a favorite child” like- wyd w all that. its performance art and im not interested!!

ran out of quarters for the laundry so i went to get more and part one of refilling the quarters is me going thru them to see if there are any my quarter collection is missing, and today i added jovita idar, gettysburg, and maria tallchief! rlly excited abt maria as a ballet dancer 🫶🩰

and if u think it is i would encourage you to look into why you feel that way. It doesn’t have to be your thing- but you dont have to “approve” of something not for it to be “morally right” for it to exist and be part of public life. Bc that shit gets ugly fast

they still havent found the second shooter but apparently the target was a retired police officer so it wasn’t random, which sort of makes u feel better as a random citizen but also is not great

there was a shooting three blocks from the elementary school where i work and they havent caught one of the shooters so the neighborhood and school is on lockdown but my shift starts in an hour, and i get to go walk to school thru these suddenly scary streets

i love my small life and all the renewing joys of carrying home the groceries every week and buttoning my coat against the cold and holding my husbands hand while we walk and brainstorming christmas gifts

its soup szn! my husband made caldo verde and i am consuming it with verve! potatoes and kale and onion and sausage and broth and autumn joy simmered together while the radiator clanks away in the corner of the living room. i cleaned the shower which badly needed it and on to laundry and sheets
