After several failed attempts, we finally found a Turtle Frog (Myobatrachus gouldii). Endemic to SW Australia, they only emerge a few nights a year to find mates.

Aspens and cottonwoods on the horizon are turning yellow/orange are illuminated under a waxing gibbous moon that hangs high, just left of center.
