I don’t disagree on the point on Duke… but again, if they’d defined it as that it would have been fine. Greg Spawton of Big Big Train wrote a piece on it.

So I’d say : Buyer Beware! The most recent album in the entire like is Genesis - Duke from 1980. To suggest that prog rock ended in 1980 is crazy. If they’d even subtitled it or explained in the editorial what the selection was based on, that would have helped. Instead it just seems like cash grab

You know a rock legend when you see one … and this one is playing with Elton John @spinaltap11.bsky.social
Any particular reason why not? To me it’s all just new ways to hear stuff. The originals are all still there so why should the existence of an Atmos mix be an issue?
20.07.2025 22:04 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I agree. However whether I’ve listened to them all ….
20.07.2025 15:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Also … on a number of occasions I’ve gone for download/ iTunes versions over the box. Springsteen’s Tracks 2 and some of the larger Dylan bootleg series are ones where I’ve decided that I just need the music, and can skip to books. Typically they cost 20% of the physical product to me that works
20.07.2025 10:37 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The Neil Young Archive model has a lot of merit. Subscription based with a very low cost entry point, and add ons depending on how deep you want to go.
20.07.2025 10:12 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yes I totally get that. The album, selected outtakes and some contemporary live material (audio and a video if you have one) are really what’s needed. Yes did that but added a vinyl album into the package which again I feel wasn’t needed.

20.07.2025 04:38 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0For people who have always thought … Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door is way too short … buy this album for a 17 minute long version. Alternatively I believe Melatonin achieves the same end.

Too late for sure but they’re £30 direct from Frontiers frontiers.shop/collections/.... It’s a great album and the live Blu Ray is worth checking out too albeit it doesn’t contain the new songs.

After the far fetched imaginings of the John & Paul book (I’ll admit … I gave up halfway thru) @stuartmaconie.bsky.social ‘s With A Little Help… is a wonderful read. It truly tells the story in a fresh way. Each chapter has a unique approach so you never quite know what or who is coming next. 👏👏👏
