In case anyone gets offended, I grew up has a big fan of his. Recovery came at a really important time in my life and it meant a lot to me. I get it. But parts of this doc felt like enabling obsession.

It is interesting for sure to see these fans, even the unsettling ones, be put in this sympathetic light. But it’s still pretty uncomfortable to watch some of them.

The acting and atmosphere are absolutely incredible, I loved it. My favorite part was Thomas making his way to the castle and his time there. Nicholas Hoult is amazing.

Finished it. The grotesque sexual aspects of it are what I knew I would have a hard time with, and I did. But I appreciate the themes that can be discussed about that. The Dracula aspects are what I enjoyed most.

I know the Coppola Dracula is beloved but there’s so much I hate about it 😅 but it is beautiful. And the Lucy tomb scene is EVERYTHING.

I hesitated to watch this when I found out what happens to Lily Depp’s character. But after some disappointments with Frankenstein, I felt like I needed to finally see it. Especially as a huge fan of Dracula and vampires in general. So far I‘m obsessed.

But honestly the references used on this show seem to have no restrictions. One guy had to redo a design he already did twice. His third drawing was a MASSIVE jump in improvement in anatomy. He did not draw that.
