Engine runs too hot in them, I had to change thermostat and a bypass switch on the fan, also not a big fan of the anti dive (I removed it) but yeah compared to a 550 is a dream. The VF1000R would be my pick of that era

In which sense? Because I’m struggling to understand what they did so much better than the others. The R1 was the first one to stack the gearbox on the road. The K5 still now used to race/drag because of reliability and a Panigale V4 is just about perfect

Axial to radial conversion, had to make new wider yokes to clear the spokes. While at it we bumped cc & compression a bit 😜

There was nothing innovative about it. Nothing like say a 1998 R1, a K5 or a V4. The best claim is that they squeezed a bit more power than the average Japanese bike and it had an advanced traction control. Was a really good bike but not a quantum leap forward, and track results would agree.

Except it didn’t

Not sure, is probably that for 3 decades we told them that screen jobs were the only ones worth pursuing.

Ah the 850. Done a couple of clutches on them so careful with the freeplay. The only major issue I’ve seen with them is on the 85TT, failure of that silly variable timing system. The V7 are solid.

When will people learn that their car is no match off the line for a motorbike? Doesn’t matter what the salesman told you, I’ll spank you on this 2015 thing.

I get paywall, and if they mean the business is sustainable, ok. The problem I have is that the quality of the product needs to be good, not just tropes. I used to buy Motosprint religiously, every Wednesday morning. The quality of the report was amazing. Couldn’t say the same about say MCN
