Local true crime panic had people in a rural city of 7,000 speculating about cartels and zip ties on door handles. The woman the panic was about had gotten sick of her family and gone to Indiana to stay with cousins for a week.

At the local No Kings in July, 2 speakers in a row on the same topic (Palestine), the 2nd one saying over and over again "This is not new" and talking about what Democrats did in 2010.

I think people hammering for court reform should add LAZY to the problems that need fixing. It helps normal people understand what is broken and can be piled on relentlessly.

It also makes it clear that more judges and court packing are clearly good answers.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading the Library of America's true crime volume, because half of the articles in it, which had been written all the way back to the 1600s, were incredibly critical of the true crime genre itself.
