Three Wisconsin Indivisibles in bathing suits holding a towel, a beach ball, and a sign that reads “NO ONE CAN DROWN OUR DEMOCRACY.”

After three Wisconsin Indivisible groups heard their GOP representative was using sprinklers to disperse peaceful protestors outside his office, the Tom Tiffany Beach Bash was born. Rather than run from the petty waterworks, Indivisibles stripped down to their bathing suits and kept on protesting! 😎

Exactly. I see what's happened in the UK and that's why I'm sure as shit not going to sit silently while the "center-left" party here does the same thing they did over there.

I am fearful of a lot of things the Trump administration is doing, but the most essential fear I have is that what they ultimately represent is the total breakdown of the absolute breakdown of the impracticalities necessary for life in a complicated world, like trust and truth.

funniest thing about climate change is the media still lectures us like we can stop it, us, the human beings on earth. i once ate a rock because i had eaten pistachios the day prior and i thought it was a pistachio on the floor. so if im an average intelligence guy then 50% of everyone eats rocks

can’t believe we opted for 1984 dystopia (surveillance and denial of historical fact) and Fahrenheit 451 dystopia (erosion of literacy) instead of Brave New World dystopia (everyone gets fucked up on government-sanctioned drugs and goes to the movies all the time)

Purdue student detained by ICE and taken to troubled Louisiana holding facility Yeonsoo Go, 20, was detained after her immigration hearing in Manhattan and taken away by ICE agents.

Go, a college student, has a dependent visa (her mother, an Episcopal minister, is here on a religious worker visa), which doesn't expire until Dec. But when she tried to renew it early, ICE nabbed her and sent her halfway across the US to a detention center.

If ChatGPT is not consistently dependable, how are we suppose to use it for actual work?
Discussion
It's behavior and results can randomly change due to some OpenAl tweaking that's opaque.
On some days it can't even keep track of a fresh chat, it can't do calculations, it can't sort through a chat to extract relevant information, and when it's suppose to refer to source material in a PDF, it doesn't.
All because OpenAl trained it for fluency and basically to simulate whatever it can for user satisfaction.
I can use it for general chats, philosophical stuff, therapy, but nothing serious. I'm pro Al, but I approach it with skepticism knowing it's undependable (as I do with anything I read).
And prompts can be interpreted/executed differently across users' own interaction with their Als so it's not truly scalable.
How does the business world / leaders expect staff to adopt Al if it's not consistently dependable? It doesn't even calculate like a calculator. If the internet start claiming 2+2=5, that's what it'll answer with.
I'd use it for hobbies and pet projects but I can't imagine using it for anything "mission critical".

I love that we’re no longer letting them just make up a guy to get mad at

you can’t be out here simultaneously telling people AI will take all the jobs bc that’s just progress and telling people they shouldn’t be allowed to go to the doctor when they’re sick if they don’t have a job

Sometimes i get tired of feeling like Cassandra, not just because i feel like I've predicted so many horrible things since 2016, but also because when you try to point shit out to people in real time, they never even learn their lesson once they're proven wrong, they just double down.

A reminder with the release of the Conjuring movie.

It perpetuates the myth that the Warrens were the good guys, when in reality they were a pair of ghouls feasting on the fears of people in crisis. Nothing but vile con artists.

They would crap themselves if they ever met a real ghost.
