so just to state it explicitly: had these men not had video evidence of a cop trying to run them over, this reporter implies we could have just moved along because who are you going to believe, a white baltimore cop or a black baltimore resident?

and while many interactions may be benign, the only reason we even have the proof this white reporter alleges we need to believe that this happened to these men is because they have learned to pull out their phones and film every time the cops jump out just in case something like this happens.

i would implore you to ask yourself why the men were even recording this interaction before this occurred. because i can tell you that cops are jumping out in black neighborhoods several times a day.

a white cop tried to run over a black man in baltimore during a jump out and the (white) local media’s take on it is “good thing they recorded it, otherwise we wouldn’t have believed them!”
