Incredible scenes!
18.11.2025 22:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The stupidity of Farageβs latest βplanβ is staggering.
Claiming theyβd save British taxpayers money by ripping up international commitments and starting a trade war with Europe is the puerile foot-stamp of a party that uses prejudice as policy. Ruinous nonsense.

This from @stephenkb.bsky.social cuts to the heart of the matter. Does the government not understand how toxic this argument is? Do they think they can somehow weaponise it? The last governments at least had the merit not of making this kind of foul claim.

16.11.2025 18:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You are defining refugees as OTHER for the rest of their lives Ms Mahmood. That is nothing other than a far right policy.

16.11.2025 11:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Imagine a 100+ seat majority in the hands of even Wilson and Callaghan, never mind Attlee, Blair or Brown.
Every one of those Labour Prime Ministers did something or would have done something far more transformative than Starmer's strategic timidity.
To explain briefly: at the moment people successful in their asylum claims get permission to stay in the UK for 5 years, then have to apply for permanent residency. At that point a review of their status is done, but itβs rare not to succeed at that point unless theyβve committed an offence 1/
15.11.2025 09:37 β π 397 π 209 π¬ 13 π 8No-one is going to switch to Labour because of this cruelty. Farage will be vindicated because the ECHR is back in the news & the economy will suffer.
There was another way.
We could have all been better off by 2029 & the Reform threat kneecapped.

HOLY SHIT. They found the genes for fibromyalgia - and it's *not* autoimmune, it's the central nervous system. It's very cool to see some progress made on the thing that's ruined my life since late teenage years!

15.11.2025 14:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Soβ¦.let me get this straight β¦these are British immigrants in Spain waving Union Jacks and protesting about immigration β¦.to the UK? π€―
15.11.2025 12:18 β π 38 π 2 π¬ 4 π 0Without asylum:
Marks and Spencer wouldn't exist
Queen would have been without a front man
The other queen wouldn't have had a husband
Judith Kerr would never have written The Tiger Who Came to Tea
And thousands of less famous people wouldn't have been teachers, politicians, neighbours, etc
I know! Incredible!

15.11.2025 10:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Aside from the cruelty of this, Iβd just like to know why itβs ok to ignore and disappoint liberal/progressive voters.
Why do governments chase Farage and his voters, thinking that will neutralise them. Itβs NEVER worked. Heβs leading in the polls and his ideas have ruined us. WTF are you doing?
This β¦is utterly appalling. Putting vulnerable refugees in permanent limbo will not stop the boats, will do nothing for Labourβs ratings, serves no one but the Faragists and embeds instability which the far right love. Lose forever. π‘

10.11.2025 18:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I fear we are seeing in the UK what has become abundantly clear in the US: for all their power and privilege, elites and institutions are absolute cowards in the face of right-wing authoritarianism. Weak, weak, weak, as Tony Blair once said
