1.3GW onshore wind from a standing start is great, a new record. Only 2 of those are in england, after the effective ban was removed you'll expect that pipeline to grow rapidly over the next few rounds - still capable of coming online before 2030 (unlike offshore which takes longer to build)

Jimmy Lai has spent more than 1800 days in solitary confinement.
Heβs a 78 year old man with multiple health problems.
This is an appalling abuse of human rights and Lai should be released by the Hong Kong authorities. He and his loved ones deserve an end to this cruel ordeal.

I'm absolutely devastated to learn that Nat Dye has passed away. He was an amazing campaigner for assisted dying. This coming Wednesday I'm going to a variety show he organised in London and I hope that even though he didn't quite make it, he was proud of that and everything else he had achieved.

The view along a 2-way grey block paved cycle track with an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing in the foreground with rain gardens on both sides of the cycle track with seating at the end.
Off London's Tottenham Court Road, Bayley Street shows that cities change. Originally a signal controlled junction from a one-way street, contraflow cycling was added and then the junction filtered with a cycle track. Today the cycling is still there, but the area is now a little square.
