Philip Larkin’s this be the verse mangled into Ozymandias, the text reads

They Oz you up, your mandyias.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They give you vast and trunkless legs
A sunken shattered visage too.
But they were Ozzed up in their turn
By Mandyias upon the sand
Who half the time had wrinkled lips And half in sneering cold command.
Oz hands on mandyias to man.
Like mighty works atop a shelf Look on them early as you can
Ye mighty and despair yourself

Now I feel like a failure. I found a copy for sale on eBay, but the seller is away until Monday. However, the listing had a photo of the required page. (PS My husband used to own a copy.)

Neither. I’m a tad obsessive when it comes to finding answers! The internet gives me no peace.

View along a back street lined with brick buildings, looking towards the end of a couple of shops in another old red brick building. It is dark. A car is parked to one side. One window on each floor has a light, the ground floor window a bright blue travel agent window, the middle floor yellow light and the top floor window an orange glow.

Lights in the windows.

I only started following you a few months ago and was really enjoying the roses, and then I realised you’d vanished. Here’s a couple of my Cafe au Lait dahlias to say welcome back.

I'd prefer the phrase 'Enjoy the rest of your day', but I appreciate it might not be appropriate if I've been speaking to them about not enjoying the first part, e.g. when complaining to a service organisation. But then they could have done something to make the rest enjoyable!

Prooflistener needed. But yes – it was my job as a coursebook editor (when asked to be present at the recording studio) to make sure that what was recorded was correct in content and pronunciation. And also to listen to the recordings!

Mine was purchased in my thirties, because I no longer had my childhood set. I got it to stamp dates on the back of photos. It was stored in a yellow Kodak photo printing paper box (which I still have), but it succumbed to age, or disuse.
Gosh, this all sounds so analogue!

That looks like a late-model John Bull printing set. I had one for ages but recently discovered all the rubber bits had disintegrated.

If I’m being honest, I’m feeling pretty crap about my small business.

It’s so bloody difficult at the moment with rising costs, US tariffs, Brexit nonsense and the threat of AI.
