Highly experienced. Managed some big clubs and has a high win %. Probably wants to try himself in the PL and is currently available.
We are a big club, moving into a world class new stadium with ambitious new owners. I think we’d be appealing to him.
It’s just whether TFG want him.
That was 20 odd years ago. He took Sunderland down. He's not the young, vibrant manager he was. He's a negative stubborn manager who won four games in 2024 and had the worst defence outside the bottom three. And that with a far better squad than what we have.

03.01.2025 00:16 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Had a lower win percentage at Brighton than Dyche has at Everton.
Cried when the Brighton fans booed his side off.
No thank you.
All this rubbish he spouts, Beto had hit double figures last 4 seasons before he joined us. DCL under Silva and Carlo far better and at the time he said it was working with Big Dunc that helped. But Dyche knows best we don’t need a striker coach!
02.01.2025 20:04 — 👍 5 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0I reckon it's all moot anyway. I think he's already been told he's not in the running for it, hence his statement about not wanting to take a job at a club battling reputation.
Classic sour grapes.
Everton: 'you're not in the running'
Moyes: 'Didn't want it anyway'
Everton: 'Everyone's happy then'.
I agree but Moyes is not the answer now and never will be.

02.01.2025 11:39 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0But this isn’t Moyes’ Everton. It’s a patchwork quilt of about eight different managers
Moyes couldn’t get his own expensively assembled squad performing last season, so what chance has he got with this rag tag bunch?
Stop thinking he’ll have us performing like it’s 2010. He’s as spent as Dyche.
Benitez won trophies years ago. He was still the worst manager we've had.
Moyes was decent for us 15 years ago. He's as much a negative, stubborn, dinosaur now as Dyche is. The stats back that up.
The past is the past. Leave it there.
Benitez was far worse.
02.01.2025 09:52 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0After the Moshiri years, chaos is the last thing we need.
We need competency and long term thinking. Dyches, Moyes and Mourinho offer none of those things.
I trust them when they back up what they're saying with facts. Worst defensive record outside the bottom three. That's the last thing we need. A manager whose team can't defend.
02.01.2025 09:49 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The striker can’t score because he is told to stand on the halfway line, back to goal, and await 60 yard punts out of defence, whilst marked by 2-3 opposition players. The best he can do is either win a free kick, or hold the ball until teammates join him in the same postcode. Horrific tactics.

01.01.2025 19:33 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It’s managed badly. That’s the difference.
01.01.2025 19:32 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I don’t want Mourinho either. For as big a club as we are, his ego is bigger. It’d be funny at first if we hired him. But he’d cause murder. He’s not what need either.
01.01.2025 19:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I don’t want him but I think we’ll scab enough points to stay up if we don’t sack him. We shouldn’t be where we are this season and it’s on him that we are. But if we are going to sack him, we need to be more ambitious than hiring like for like and hiring someone just because they managed us before.
01.01.2025 19:27 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0They don’t have to “get Everton”. I don’t even know what that means.
They need to know football and how to manage teams to win enough football matches.
Dyche and Moyes aren’t the answer.
Spot on.
People seem to think that Moyes is the only manager in world football who’d be open to coming to us and who would do a better job. Which is highly debatable in itself.
Be ambitious now FFS.
Or if we can’t get the manager we want now, wait until the summer. Dyche will probably keep us up
It’s like for like. I’d rather stick with Dyche. He’s horrible, his football is horrible but he’ll probably keep us up regardless.
I don’t want a manager for five months and not one who’s as spent as Moyes and one who can no longer set up his teams to defend.
We need to stop looking backwards - and especially at managers on a par with Dyche.
