Every time someone gets on this website and says "lol they voted for it" about a state that has been slowly bleeding out since they gutted the VRA and signed off on doing All The Overt Racism Again?
Those were the times you should have been fighting this ongoing fight.
Start now, please!

People act like I'm naïve when I say I don't think they're going to cancel elections, and like no. I'm not?
I'm grimly pragmatic about how hard they have been making it to vote this whole time. They are *so good* at voter suppression, a lot of folks have just had the luxury of ignoring it.

Also, I would just like to point out (again):
They are already doing this.
They called in BOMB THREATS to majority Black precincts in Georgia in 2024.
This is not new, they're just talking about doing it out loud now, and more directly in more places. Pay attention to folks already fighting it!

its time for bigotry against billionaires to have its moment.
all the things they say about blacks, latinos, asian, women, lgbtqi etc -- all the smears, innuendo, etc -- we need to say it about them.

cover of The Washington Post on Wednesday Feb 4, 2026. Headline on bottom, right: Musk wanted to hook users; his chatbot got more sexual
My story on Elon Musk cutting safeguards at xAI is on the front page of today's @washingtonpost.com. I’m also among 100’s of reporters laid off. I absolutely loved my job my brilliant coworkers & the thrill of reporting @ the center of forces upending the world: AI & Silicon Valley’s political power

One of the main arguments against the Bill of Rights back in 1787-88 was that enumerating specific rights would lead future generations to conclude those were the only ones that existed
Supporters pointed to the 9th Amendment as the fix
And we still somehow ended up where opponents said we'd be 🤦♂️

"I was told you're a monster," the hero said.
"So they say," said the monster.
"But you're beautiful!"
"Thank you."
"Have you always been a monster?"
"Heh. I was a young maiden. But I did something forbidden."
"And became a monster?"
"Got named a monster."
"What did you do?"
"I hit back."

For every year from 1994 to 2023, immigrants in the US paid more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government. Check out the latest study from Cato’s David Bier.

Immigrants saved US government at all levels $14.5 trillion from 1994 to 2023 because the taxes they paid cut budget deficits by nearly one-third in real terms, a new Cato Institute study reports. Learn more from David Bier.

Why Elon Musk’s Latest Mega Merger Is Little More than Vaporware
The tech mogul and would-be space pioneer is mashing up his properties once more in a deal that's unlikely to achieve escape velocity .
#Musk keeps his “whirligig moving” by “tapping the same close circle of venture capitalists, Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds, and political patrons.” His latest corporate contortions will likely postpone his eventual “day of reckoning.”

For reference every person who's only seen Les Mis but not read Les Miserables should understand that book!Marius is, quite literally, a Bonapartist enraptured by the military pageantry and vaguely protofascist vibes.
He sort of uncomfortably drops out of the club when his friends call him on it.

Yeah, part of what's weird here is as recently as fall 2021 Bezos was funding the expansion of the Post by *40* editors, which is nearly unheard-of for a mature news org. Read this memo -- and note that every single person who signed it was gone by end of 2025 www.washingtonpost.com/pr/2021/09/2...

It's true! I did ONE (1) In-Person meetup to provide whistles to someone who requested them through the linktree email. She told me about an upcoming protest to protect trans kids access to their hormones/treatments. It was down the street so I went. I met leaders in 3 other organizations.

Oh, here’s another example of the tech industry being a pseudoscience industry. Even the largest tech companies (Meta in this case) employ industrial practices that are a long-falsified business management pseudoscience dressed up as data-driven Taylorism.
