08.02.2026 17:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good morning, Womble! I'm also enjoying an Irish setting, but a complete contrast in tone, as I've just finished reading Aisling Ever After by Emer Lysaght and Sarah McBreen, fifth in the series, all of which have been a delight, and full of laughter and kindness, for both silly and serious topics.

06.02.2026 19:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's awful. So intrusive and I've only ever been a passenger in one. The door handles, however, are contrastingly small and flimsy, and awkward to try to operate with one hand.

I'll keep the big coat on, thanks.
I got taught that in Home Economics.
06.02.2026 11:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you. Had a bit of a disaster cooking for people in early December so it's nice to bounce back from that.
06.02.2026 10:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Craft and Activism exhibition is on at the Museum of Edinburgh until 22nd Feb, is free to visit, and is well worth your time if you're in the area.
It is also possible to enjoy a walk down the Royal Mile to it at this time of year.
And I managed to make a couple of vegan dinners (shepherd's pie and vegetable paella) we could all eat, despite our assorted food restrictions, and they turned out well.
06.02.2026 10:28 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Last weekend was excellent with a couple of friends visiting, one of whom we hadn't seen in person since before the pandemic. We spent time talking, had a trip out to a nearby cafe, and played a bunch of games: Fluxx (Firefly), Tranquility, Tranquility the Ascent, So Clover, 6 Nimmt, and Dixit.
06.02.2026 10:28 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Really enjoyed seeing the Craft and Activism exhibition at the Museum of Edinburgh, yesterday, and even more so because I went with one of the exhibitors to see her work displayed. Rich displays and storytelling. Tea and cake beforehand was good too.

05.02.2026 17:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, if one's mugs all fit in one drawer, how can that be too many mugs?
(I've had more than forty years of adult life to accumulate mugs. There's a lot of history attached to some of those mugs. Also one can never have too many Denby craftsman mugs.)
