I do not have to accept people "are who they say they are" if what they are saying is that they are of a sex that are not. i do not. you cannot make me believe it or accept it. that's compelled belief or compelled speech. you can possibly bully me into silence but that's the best you can hope for.

What I see is a systematic process to undermine women’s rights and lesbian and gay rights under a so-called progressive cause. It is unbelievably offensive. This only serves male supremacy and patriarchy and narrows human flourishing.

I too have younger family members whose lives were completely derailed by LC. It really puts the costs of vaccination into perspective. Of course, vaccination is not immunity, but we're all better off the more protected we each are - infections will be fewer and less severe.

If those facilities do not meet their needs, they are free to work to establish facilities that do. There is however no automatic right to take over women's spaces and declare them unisex.

It's not an excuse to exclude trans people, it's a justification for excluding men from women's spaces. Trans people are included in any facilities provided for their sex class.

You can't. It doesn't solve anything for either women or trans women, it just makes the women's pond unisex.

malevolent cis men can use the women's pond alongside trans women under your proposal. how can you tell who is a "real" trans woman and who is a "cis" man posing as trans for the duration of his swim?

if biological men now have the choice and freedom to be in women's spaces at any time for any reason because of the thoughts in their head, why would we expect that ONLY the men with "I'm a lady" thoughts would be the ones to exercise this right?

the "old" way of segregating men from women is and was far from perfect, but it was always a workaround, a compromise, that had merit because it's almost always the case that bad actors are biological men.

once you've dealt with one or two really unpleasant "cis" men, you learn that when certain men want something, they will use ANY loophole or weak spot society offers them.

however lovely and respectful 99% of people might be in respecting the new "identity" rules, they leave no room at all for drawing any boundaries about who is welcome where.

If you do the latter - saying there are *no* criteria, biological, physiological, or presentational - because the only relevant thing is the identity in someone's head - then you've effectively made everywhere unisex.
