Dial-up Internet to be discontinued AOL routinely evaluates its products and services and has decided to discontinue Dial-up Internet. This service will no longer be available in AOL plans. As a result, on September 30, 2025 this service and the associated software, the AOL Dialer software and AOL Shield browser, which are optimized for older operating systems and dial-up internet connections, will be discontinued. So apparently we are within the last 60 days of dial-up AOL being a thing.

Today I learned that astronaut Jim Lovell's father was a Canadian who was born in Toronto (he's buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, apparently).

I'm almost completely certain that this means that, legally, Jim Lovell was a citizen of Canada (...unless he renounced it).

I can't wait to see what the next 10 months are going to be like for Colbert. Now he has nothing to lose. It's a shame he lost his show, but this is going to be interesting. CBS, Paramount, and Dementia Don are all now fair game. Colbert ratings will go thru the roof. I ordered a case of popcorn.
