I understand why editors prefer to avoid using pseudonyms for sources, but when (multiple) whole categories of people are in legitimate danger, maybe its time to reconsider that policy so that said endangered people's stories can still be told.

There's no way to say this without sounding like an ecofascist (which I'm not), but humans are responsible for species extinction. It's good to get rid of invasive species that we brought, but we should also address climate change, habitat loss, overexploitation, pollution, and disease.
