Honestly, its the best. I used to go to the Caribbean side a lot. Cancun, Playa, Tulum etc. The crimes a bit much and now I have the not-so-little-now guy. I still love it there too and I'll get him over to check it out once hes a little older and Ive prepped him properly for what that looks like.
