Don't know if it is just about elections. I watched dems piss away a super majority dickering over single payer vs aca. The left refused to take the W and move on. Sometimes ideological purity wastes precious time and you end up with nothing, and sometimes it leads to fighting on unfavorable ground.

But what good does it do for our current fight? I agree we can't elect turncoats and traitors but I also watched democrats blow a super majority in the house and senate with the presidency and the supreme court because they argued for an year about single payer vs market place until Ted Kennedy died and the power evaporated.
