The Celtics are now 6-1 to start a 10-game stretch in which it was very unclear how many wins they would get. Some injury luck, but this is still a very impressive run.

I do think the scoring issues are partly roleβ¦but that will be the case everywhere heβs not a primary option
Oh for sure! Itβs definately an avenue.
Iβm just hopeful the move on from him and find a longer-term upgrade.
See, I think there's room for a true veteran leader on the Cs roster.
They lost a lot this summer, and Paul would be a short-term bridge
This is true.
My point was more that if a team is in or near the tax, having a $25 mill guy come off the books does a lot for the team's flexibility
Teams tend to value expiring contracts.
You get a guy for a couple of months, see if he fits, if not you let him walk, if so, you negotiate a new deal.
I don't think a genuine contender will move for him...But a team on the fringe that needs more scoring? I could see it.
Yeah, I think sticking in the West is the most likely outcome, too.
I do think he would get minutes for Boston, especially as I'm not sold on Simons sticking beyond the trade deadline.
Ultimately, it's a pipe-dream, but a fun one to write about :)
Allow me to sell you on a trade idea...

With the impactful play of Josh Minott, Jordan Walsh, Hugo Gonzalez and Neemy this season, Baylor Scheierman has flown under the radar.
Still, Scheierman has shown a key improvement in recent weeks, which could set the table for him to earn a bigger role.

30.11.2025 19:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm βde-nichingβ away from Xs and Os. I miss just covering the Cs in all the weird and wonderful ways possible.
No idea how that looks though π€·ββοΈ
The corner 3 is working for the C's today.
It's only accounted for 7.3% of their offense this season (lowest in the league) - down from 13th last season.
But, with Scheierman having a hot hand, and more focus on spray offense, it's been a legit weapon in the 1st half...
With Neemy out, Iβd expect to see some more small-ball from Mazzulla in the coming games.
Will also be good to see what Garza can do with an increased role.
Was a big fan of those 2nd quarter small ball minutes last game
4 minutes into the 2nd quarter, Joe Mazzulla made a tweak to the Celtics' rotation.
That tweak led to Boston winning the remaining possessions of the qtr by 17 points, and set the tone for the rest of the game.
I explore that tweak, and it's impact

Really good piece by Adam on what a lot of us deal with covering from out of market. He's not THE person I was talking about yesterday, but one of them to be sure.

Any easier, when youβre trying be seen on par with those in and around the team.
And this isnβt just an issue with how other writers, bloggers, creators see you β itβs the same with the consumers.
We sound different. We have different slang. Humor varies by country.

Doing this from a distance is a tough ask.
We donβt get the access, opportunities and oftentimes respect that those in market do. But, weβre doing a very similar job, while making just as many sacrifices.
Closed circles within the media are blind to happen. Still, that doesnβt make it (1)
Three members of the Celtics had SOLID defensive nights against Memphis.
Derrick White defended 11 shots, allowing 3 makes 27.3 DFG%
Jordan Walsh defended 11 shots, allowing 2 makes 18.2 DFG%
Josh Minott defended 17 shots, allowing 4 makes 23.5 DFG%
Thatβs the kicker for them. Would need to prioritize young players in return and commit to internal development.
Either way, theyβre going to be bad
After yesterday's DeMar DeRozan trade proposal from ClutchPoints...I thought it would be fun to look at some realistic trade targets for the Celtics, with a focus on adding depth to the big-man rotation.

Sorry, just seeing this!
I think some of it is due to the pressure help defense puts on his dribble. Setting traps, etc.
I think his burst helps him split pre-determined doubles a little too.
But overall, I'm not totally sure on the "why" behind that decision
