Long-COVID research just got a big funding boost: will it find new treatments? The German government has committed half a billion euros to research into long COVID and other post-infection syndromes.

Alle durchseuchen damit wir es schnell hinter uns haben? Schon von SARS-1 anno 2003 waren Langzeitschรคden bekannt.

A Facebook post by former wrestler Mick Foley:

PARTING WAYS WITH WWE
While I have been concerned about WWEโ€˜s close relationship with Donald Trump for several months โ€” especially in light of his administrationโ€™s ongoing cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants (and pretty much anyone who โ€œlooks like an immigrantโ€) โ€” reading the Presidentโ€™s incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reinerโ€™s death is the final straw for me.
I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy. Last night, I informed @WWE talent relations that I would not be making any appearances for the company as long as this man remains in office. Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June. I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, โ€œI stands all I can stands, and I canโ€™t stands no more.โ€

Mick Foley was the 1st wrestler I was really a fan of/had a crush on (partially because of a gorgeous article he wrote about Tori Amos.) He's an incredibly talented teddy bear with a heart of gold (see also: why I adore Hangman Adam Page).
So, I'm not surprised he took a stand, but I'm happy he did.

As a chronically ill person, I still mask. For my own safety. Covid isnโ€™t gone, and is still actively disabling people. I am disabled because of covid.
Not only is masking super awesome and even fashionable, it protects you and your loved ones. So please, wear a mask <3

COVID-19 Alters Host RNA, Disables Immune Response Researchers at the Federal University of Sรฃo Paulo (UNIFESP) in Brazil have discovered that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, uses a

Researchers in Brazil found SARS-CoV-2 uses a sophisticated tactic to evade the bodyโ€™s defenses. It can dodge the immune system before invading cells, then manipulate the host cellโ€™s genetic material after infectionโ€”an approach not previously seen in other pathogens. This helps it escape detection.

Since then, she reports repeated illnesses including strep, bronchitis, mono, pneumonia, and COVID. She states she has had COVID nine times since 2021, with one infection progressing to pneumonia and requiring hospitalisation. She says she washes her hands religiously, avoids crowds, is vaccinated regularly, and experiences severe pain, body chills, exhaustion, and fear of going to crowded places. She asks for help, saying repeated infections feel like they are draining her body.

This is wild. A 22-year-old having COVID 9 times isnโ€™t โ€œnormalโ€ or acceptable.

She washes her hands religiously, but COVID is airborne โ€” Public health failed her.

She had been healthy and happy for most of her life, but repeated infections have clearly taken a toll on her health and wellbeing.

Detailed table titled โ€œCOVID-19 State Prevalence Estimatesโ€ from the Pandemic Mitigation Collaborative, dated Dec 15, 2025 (pmc19.com/data). Each U.S. state is listed with its CDC transmission level, the PMC estimate of how many people are actively infectious (shown as โ€œ1 in Xโ€ and percent), and the probability that at least one person is infectious in gatherings of 10, 25, 50, or 100 people. Indiana is highlighted in dark red as very high, with about 1 in 26 people infectious (3.8%), translating to a 32% chance in a room of 10 and up to 98% in a room of 100. Connecticut is highlighted as high, with about 1 in 39 infectious (2.6%), giving a 23% to 93% chance depending on room size. Many states are categorized as low or very low, including California, Florida, Hawaii, and Washington, while several states are marked with an asterisk indicating limited data reporting. Data were last updated on Dec 6, 2025.
